The volunteer faith coaching ministry exists to serve the needs of our Bridgeway family.  Christian coaching is a series of focused, collaborative conversations in which the coach uses questions to cultivate self discovery. God’s presence impacts discussions as we invite Him into every coaching conversation. The coaching process creates pathways for sustained growth and forward action wherever the person being coached desires to explore.  It is a journey designed to move you toward a specific, targeted goal. The coach’s job is to help you find the direction by asking you to stretch in ways not done before or challenging you to step into seeing something from a different perspective. It is not the role of the coach to find the answers but to believe that the person being coached, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, is the best resource.

Coaching is Right For You When …

  • You are ready for the next level of development
  • You are ready to make a significant change
  • You desire more sustainable energy, life balance, wellness or better health
  •  You long to make consistently better decisions
  • You want to explore new ways to identify and utilize your gifts and talents
  • There is a lack of fulfillment in the goal setting process
  • You are preparing for a new season of life
  • Specific goals or tasks need to be accomplished and you cannot find the energy or an effective process to tackle them

How is Coaching Different from Counseling?

Coaching:

  • Focuses on the present influencing the future
  • Assumes mental/spiritual health and wholeness
  • Helps clients discover hidden potential
  • Helps client create actionable strategies to achieve specific goals
  • Assumes client, with the help of the Holy Spirit, is the expert for themselves
  • Allows client to hold the agenda
  • Begins with the questions: How, What, or When?

Coaching appointments are free and take place on the BCC campus in the Soul Care Center and typically last 45-60 minutes. Coaching typically starts with a 3-5 session appointment commitment and can be done weekly, bi weekly or monthly depending on your availability.  Coaching can continue beyond the 5 sessions if both coach and coachee want to continue.
